Peugeot created the pepper grinder in 1842, long before it made cars. Peugeot is famous for its terrific grinding mechanisms, hence their lifetime warranty on them.

The "Fidji" Red salt and pepper mills stand 6-1/4" tall. The stainless steel tops have a patented coating (called physical vapor deposition) on their mechanisms to provide further resistance to corrosion. Peugeot has world exclusivity in the food industry for this P.V.D. technique.

There are seven coats of lacquer on the "Fidji". The pepper mill has an adjustable mechanism to suit every grind requirement. The salt mill is specifically designed to grind large grains of dry sea salt and is made with an extra corrosion resistant stainless steel so that the salt will not harm it.
