This knife is a product of both the most famous cutlery town in the world, Solingen, Germany, and a knife manufacturing family that dates back to 1864. It is a forged knife with a Rockwell hardness number of 56. Being a non-staining carbon steel blade, it offers the best of two worlds - carbon steel for ease of sharpening and lack of brittleness, and a recipe of other metals to prevent its rusting and provide strength. Ergonomically balanced, the blade is cambered and extra wide. It is the perfect tool for chopping, mincing, and trimming vegetables, fish, and meat. All in all, this knife is the flagship of fine cutlery. The little placque in the knife's heel provides balance and allows you to engrave your initials. The comfortable "feel good" molded handle is actually dishwasher safe, but we strongly recommend hand washing all fine cutlery as dishwashing will impair the metal composition and damage the edge.
The chef's knife is available with either a straight or a Kullenschliff edge. Onto all of our knives we are delighted to have our logo etched, our stamp of approval. Although a protective sheath is included with purchase, we recommend storing knives in a special rack. Available in the sizes indicated.
