The folks at J.K. Adams describe this "Colonial Trencher" best.
"Back in the late 50's we decided to re-create an historic board that was popular when Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Boys protected our New England hills. We chose to make them of black walnut, just as they were in colonial times, and to reproduce accurately an heirloom with the weight, feel, and balance of the originals. The subtle contours of the magnum trencher include a sloped cutting surface with a deep juice well and perfectly sized handgrips inset on each side...Over the years, these boards have gathered an incredibly loyal following and we are proud to re-introduce them to our line."
Our "Colonial Trencher" measures 20" x 14" x 1". Don't forget to season it often.
